Q: What is KCRW's social media discussion policy?
A: Adapted from NPR’s and KMUW’s Community Discussion Rules
KCRW encourages thoughtful and respectful feedback on all of the stories posted on our social media channels. We’re driven by a mission to promote insightful discussion and understanding of the issues and people that shape Southern California and our world.
Please feel free to post your thoughts there, but be mindful of our rules for participating in KCRW’s social media discussions. If you break the rules, don't be surprised if we delete or block your comments. And if we find ourselves removing several of your comments, we may have to ban you.
- First: Be polite. Our aim is to foster healthy discussion about important topics, not to censor discussion of controversial topics or issues. We're not always going to agree with each other, but respectful conversation about an issue helps expand empathy and deepen our understanding of the world. Focus your remarks on positions, not personalities. We will not accept personal attacks, name-calling, libel, defamation, or hate speech directed at anyone or anything. Do not post anything that could be taken as threatening, harassing, bullying, obscenity, pornography, sexism or racism.
- Don't use obscenities. This is a public forum where everyone should feel comfortable.
- Stay on topic.
- Don’t spam. We do not allow advertisements, solicitations or promotions.
- Respect privacy. Please do not share another person's contact information through KCRW’s social channels.
- Don't post anything posing as someone else.
- You are responsible for the content you post. KCRW is not responsible for the content posted by its audience. We do not and cannot review all user content posted on our social media channels.
KCRW reserves the right to delete comments that violate these discussion guidelines. If you feel your comment has been wrongfully deleted, please contact us to request a fair appeal.
Q: Do you have accessibility for fans with disabilities?
A: We currently offer transcripts of audio stories for the hearing impaired. If you’re interested in receiving a written transcript of an audio story, please contact us here.
Q: Why aren’t the live streams working?
A: If you are experiencing technical issues with a particular stream, please email us.
Q: How do I subscribe to KCRW newsletters?
A: You can subscribe to KCRW’s newsletters here. You can update your subscription preference at any time using the links at the bottom of the KCRW emails in your inbox.
